As the Advisor, you will work across various areas within the team, with a strong focus on leading reporting activities to support team objectives. The role also includes providing advice on complex employment matters to Hospital and Health Services, and occasionally to the Department of Health, with guidance from a Manager when needed.
What you'll do
- Preparation of reports, documents, and submissions.
- Extract, compile and review data for the quarterly Conduct and Performance (CaPE) reporting to the Public Sector Commission (PSC).
- Collate, provide analysis and report on case management data providing insight and recommendations aligned with Queensland Health's values and strategic direction.
- Provide advice and recommendations on appropriate management and resolution of complex employment matters.
- Understanding of contemporary human resource management principles, public sector legislation, directives, policies, agreements and relevant employment frameworks that apply to Queensland Health.
- Establish effective working relationships with clients through the provision of high quality, accurate, authoritative services and timely advice and support in relation to relevant matters.
About you
We are searching for someone with:
- Demonstrated ability to apply initiative across all functions of the role, enabling management to make proactive decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret legislative and policy documents.
- Capability to collate data and prepare reports.
- Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office (in particular Word, Excel and Powerpoint), or intermediate skills in MS office.
- Demonstrated consultation and collaboration skills both within and outside the work unit, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment to resolve complex and sensitive problems.
- Highly developed research and analytical skills.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to complete work within timeframes, manage competing priorities and ensuring attention to detail.
