As the Assistant Finance Officer Accounts Payable you will be responsible for accurate completion and proficient performance of accounts payable processing, supporting the Accounts Payable Team Lead in delivering departmental targets and priorities.
What you'll do
You will:
- Be required to fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with the Queensland Public Service values.
- Ensure that all payments are completed within relevant legislation, policies, and procedures applicable to the accounts payable function, accurately, efficiently and within the departmental priorities.
- Be responsible for completing and validating the payment of accounts and retrieval of data utilising the Vendor Invoice Management System (VIM) for Purchase Orders and Non-Purchase Orders and payment of Staff Claims.
About you
We are searching for someone who has:
- Knowledge of an integrated financial management system and other software applications (eg databases, spreadsheets) relevant to an accounts payable unit, including data entry and retrieval skills.
- Knowledge of, or the ability to acquire knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures applicable to the accounts payable function consistent with the Department of Health and other government agency directives.
- High standard of communication, problem solving and the ability to work effectively in a team environment, meet deadlines and organize work priorities.
- Ability to build and maintain appropriate relationships with team members, vendors and corporate divisions stakeholders.
