As the Principal Business Analyst, you will lead and proactively consult with Queensland Health business representatives across the state to analyse, develop and implement future state business workflows and supporting data changes to implement the IWFM electronic rostering solution for predominantly nurses and midwives across multiple Queensland Health sites.

Intrastate travel is a requirement of this role for Brisbane-based employees. The home base for this position will be Bowen Hills, Brisbane, unless otherwise advertised or agreed upon.

What you'll do

  • Lead the research and analysis of current workforce management and business practices being performed in the Hospital and Health Services (HHS) and the Department of Health.
  • Inspire team members by investing time in building positive and productive relationships, setting clear objectives and providing professional guidance and support.
  • Oversee the research and recommend variations to local business rules and procedural matters affecting the efficient operation of the allocated area of responsibility.
  • Ensure that high quality documentation is developed for all stakeholder groups.
  • Conduct and supervise the analysis of existing business processes and data, and future business processes and data, within the context of the information system solution using approved tools and methods.
  • Provide advice with the development and implementation of program plans and subsidiary plans that link with Department and branch outcomes.
  • Interpret business and user requirements and provide advice on the application of the information systems solution to optimise local and enterprise-wide business outputs.

About you

We are searching for someone with:

  • Knowledge of rostering in a 24/7 complex environment would be highly desirable.
  • Experience undertaking business analysis in a complex environment (eg. Health/Education) including current state analysis, change management support and go-live support.

While not mandatory relevant qualification in Information Technology and/or Project Management would be well regarded.
