As a Principal Advisor – Health Management you will provide expert, high-quality advice and support (both written and verbal) to Department of Health leaders and management on complex health management matters relating to employees with non-work-related illnesses or injuries. You will contribute to the achievement of an equitable, ethical and safe working environment for staff, which has an emphasis on commitment, skills development, professional growth and continuous improvement directed towards the achievement of the branch goals and objectives. Additionally, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight in the development and continuous improvement of human resource processes, guidelines, tools, and initiatives that support the effective management of employees with non-work-related illnesses or injuries.

Role fit:

  • Expert skills and knowledge and comprehensive understanding of employment and industrial relations legislation, policies, and procedures within a large, complex public sector organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in the autonomous and responsive handling of complex health management matters in a large and complex operating environment.
  • Proficiency in using HR information systems and data analytics tools to source and interpret workforce data.
