As the Principal Data Analyst, Data Solutions you will lead the management and use of payroll and human resource data processes. You will ensure the integrity, accessibility, and continual improvement of data assets, while supporting the collection, integration and loading of new data sets in line with legislative requirements and evolving business needs.
What you'll do
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of analysts, setting priorities, organising team workflow, and deliver quality outcomes aligned with divisional strategy.
- Lead complex business, data and economic analysis, including investigations into systemic issues, to provide actionable insights, reports and recommendations to the senior leadership team that inform strategic and operational decision making.
- Apply advanced knowledge of data warehousing principles, payroll systems, and business practices to oversee the extraction, collection, cleansing, loading and utilisation of data to support organisational needs.
- Oversee and support change initiatives arising from system releases or legislative requirements, ensuring customer engagement, support and alignment with business priorities.
- Identify, assess and mitigate risks and issues, ensuring they are documented, reviewed and escalated as appropriate.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders, fostering collaboration and clear communication and adherence to service quality standards, policies and procedures to ensure high quality, safe and compliant service delivery.
About you
We are searching for someone who has:
- A relevant qualification or equivalent experience in data analysis, payroll, finance or workforce management (desirable but not mandatory), for example a degree in Business, Finance or Data Analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and guide change within a multi-disciplinary team to manage workloads, meet deadlines under pressure and ensure high work quality standards.
- Demonstrated experience supporting data quality processes and improvements within a large and complex environment.
- Demonstrated advanced capability in managing and analysing large, complex payroll data sets, utilising Microsoft Excel, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, and similar data analysis tools.
- Demonstrated high level analytical, conceptual planning and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication, with ability to provide authoritative advice, consult and negotiate with senior managers and stakeholders on complex and strategic issues, and build effective client and stakeholder relationships.
