We are looking for a Despatch Coordinator to lead and manage the Despatch team to deliver an efficient, reliable and cost-effective third-party logistics (3PL) transport service for the distribution and return of pharmaceuticals to and for all HHS clients across Queensland, as well as external clients.

What you'll do

  • Manage a team of Despatch Officers to deliver a high-quality 3PL service to Central Pharmacy clients including but not limited to despatch, transport and reverse logistics. 
  • Liaise and engage with internal and external stakeholders to maximise service quality for customers and ensure value for taxpayer funds. 
  • Provide logistical support and advice to clients including but not limited to hospital order inquiries, urgent requests, and ETAs.
  • Serve as a skilled liaison, providing consultation, and negotiation with respective 3PL services and customer enquiries.
  • Develop, review and manage Transport Schedules utilising an electronic manifest system to ensure delivery timeframes are met including executing emergency logistics plans during cyclones/floods with third-party coordination. 
  • Identify training needs and provide on the job training to Despatch Officers. 
  • Collaborate with Operations Manager to determine scheduling priorities.  
  • Ensure teams mandatory training, Chain of Responsibility Awareness Training and manual handling training is complete and up to date.  

About you

We are searching for someone with:

  • Experience in the delivery and maintenance of high-quality transport services to clients. 
  • Proven leadership experience that can achieve goals of the work unit. 
  • Skills in the co-ordination of workflows processes and responsibility for quality of work output 
  • Experience in guiding and training of others 
  • Excellent communications skills that will support and build relationships within the team and clients using sound communication and interpersonal skills.
