Pathology Assistant /Phlebotomist

Seeking a savvy individual to join our team who will be a great addition to our friendly hard working team of Health Professionals. Phlebotomy staff are responsible for high-quality cost-effective phlebotomy to clients of Pathology Queensland. The position also provides support for central specimen reception, data entry, stock control and for the overall efficient operation of the department as directed by the laboratory manager.

Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key capabilities, knowledge and experience. Within the context of the responsibilities described above under ‘your key responsibilities', the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated skills in phlebotomy utilising various collection techniques on a variety of patient demographics, adhering to established guidelines and policies.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner with and without supervision within a team environment. Ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
- A demonstrated commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement.
- Ability to actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety and ethical behaviour.
Qualifications, registrations, and other requirements
- Please detail any visa conditions you may have if you are not a permanent resident of Australia.

- While not mandatory, a Certificate III or IV in Pathology Collections or the equivalent would be an advantage
