Perform routine laboratory scientific and technical tasks of increasing complexity by applying established methods and procedures. Apply the appropriate level of knowledge, expertise and experience in the independent resolution of problem solving on a day to day basis in the analysis of patient specimens.

Key competencies (role specific criteria)

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to continuously acquiring knowledge and skills in the Haematology testing and investigations in a clinical pathology laboratory.
  • Proactively supports and encourages the professional growth and development of team members.
  • Embraces opportunities to learn from complex workplace challenges and develop effective solutions.
  • Continuously enhances communication skills to build and maintain professional relationships in the workplace.
  • Actively engages in learning and leading process improvements and client liaison activities.
  • Develops and maintains an understanding of laboratory quality systems, including NATA accreditation and ISO certification.
  • Awareness of the human resource management policies applicable to contemporary workplaces.
