We are looking for a Casual Delivery Driver to join us in making a difference by playing a critical role in the heavy vehicle transportation of linen, clinical and non-clinical supplies to Queensland Health hospitals and health facilities across Queensland.

As a Delivery Driver, you will be involed with the manual loading and unloading of vehicles using roll-on/roll-off trolleys, tallboys, pallets, and roll cages in a safe and efficient manner. You will be responsible for the delivery and collection of handling units in line with schedules, procedures, and company policies. In addition, the position requires operating heavy and associated vehicles in compliance with Queensland Government road rules and the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), ensuring adherence to licensing requirements, load restraint standards, safe tailgate operation, pre-operational checks, and safe driving practices at all times.

About you

We are searching for someone with:

  • Demonstrated high level skills in communication, both written and verbal, with an ability to understand complex instructions and the completion of required paperwork
  • Proven communication skills that exhibit a high level of customer service to Health Support Queensland's clients and workforce.
  • The timely and efficient delivery of various essential materials as required utilising Queensland Health's heavy vehicles.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver, load and unload handling units in a busy environment while adhering to safe work practices.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and to maintain healthy, productive relationships with other team members.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, flexible and a positive attitude.
  • Resilience and ability to accept and navigate change in a positive and constructive manner. Seek feedback where required with ability to learn from every experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety in the workplace and the key principles of safe and courteous driving.
