What's required – 

  • You are registered with, or eligible for registration with AHPRA.
  • You have a relevant post-graduate qualification FRACGP, FACRRM or equivalent for Senior Medical Officer OR you are on a training pathway leading to FRACGP, FACRRM for Senior Medical Officer (Provisional Fellow)

AND

  • You have an advanced skill in emergency medicine, indigenous health, internal medical, mental health or paediatrics.

AND

  • You have a genuine desire to work in the remote town of Winton, Queensland.

What's involved –  This is an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of patients in some of the most remote locations in Queensland, while providing health care to residents and visitors to Central West Hospital and Health Service (CWHHS) at Winton.

Join our team of 3 SMO and 1 PHO doctors and become part of a broader group of around 29 SMO and PHO doctors throughout the region. You'll work at top of scope, challenge yourself, and contribute to our One Practice Model of Care which allows you to practice at the local hospital, the general practice, and provide outreach to our primary health centres. Our model of care is backed by a collegial and supportive team environment!  We want candidates willing to contribute to the development of a cohesive and supportive team environment. This includes providing short term relief to doctors based at other facilities in the health service if required.

As a Central West Health employee, you will be well remunerated. Your benefits include a generous employer superannuation contribution of up to 12.75%, salary packaging to increase your take-home pay, 17.5% annual leave loading, generous leave allocations, professional development leave and opportunities, indemnity, and allowances for housing, motor vehicle, and telecommunications.

You could qualify for up to $70,000 in Incentive Payments(Conditions Apply)

About Central West Hospital and Health Service - We are responsible for the delivery of healthcare services to communities across a vast region to 20.6 per cent of Queensland. As a rural and remote hospital and health service, Central West HHS provides a range of community, primary and hospital-based services and has formed strong partnerships with other service providers to collectively support the holistic care to the people of the Central West.
