Digital Metro North (DMN) are seeking an experienced Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer with strong data lifecycle understanding with SQL, data integration and knowledge of data platforms and supporting technical processes.
The perfect candidate will also have strong demonstrated analytics pipelines and presentation experience with creating business and backend reports/extracts.
Experience with the healthcare industry and/or experience with Enterprise Electronic Medical Records will also be highly regarded.

Digital Metro North (DMN) works collaboratively with Metro North Health (MNH) clinical leads and end users to deliver the digital transformation strategy for Metro North Health. It will ultimately create an integrated digital hospital and healthcare environment across Metro North. In meeting this strategy significant capital works are being undertaken over the next five years that includes hospital construction/refurbishment and the implementation of ieMR Advanced solution across Metro North. Delivering this will require a dedicated team, with the capacity to work across initiatives and domains, with the knowledge, determination, skills and experience to deliver.
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager Analytics and working directly with the DMN Data Analytics team this role will support the reporting and analytics needs of Metro North Health facilities and directorates. The successful candidate will be responsible for gathering stakeholder requirements; establishing data flows; modelling business data structures; building and optimising queries and views; contributing to the sound governance and management of ICT systems and services; documenting strategies, processes and progress.
Key knowledge and experience
The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Development of end to end business intelligence solutions, including reports and visualisations, to deliver analytical and data products using predominantly Microsoft Power BI.
- Continual improvement and the production of real-time, periodic and ad-hoc dashboards.
- Provide expert advice on analytics methodologies and tooling, contribute to building the capability by mentoring, training and providing expert advice to other staff.
- Analyse, integrate, cleanse, transform and navigate large, disparate sets of data to determine insights, key metrics, data quality etc. in alignment with customer requirements.
- Undertake complex data analysis, prepare data outputs and provide data quality reports based on data from clinical, administrative and financial information systems for internal customers to enable benchmarking and assist in the development of strategies to improve healthcare in Queensland.
- Undertake documentation for analytic exercises and input into broader practices attached to:
- Metadata
- Information Governance/Security
- Clinical Data Definitions
- Develop solutions that build upon collected data to create models that provide deeper insights and/or predictive results.
