Digital Metro North (DMN) works collaboratively with Metro North Health (MNH) clinical leads and end users to deliver the digital transformation strategy for Metro North Health. It will ultimately create an integrated digital hospital and healthcare environment across Metro North. In meeting this strategy significant capital works are being undertaken over the next five years that includes hospital construction/refurbishment and the implementation of ieMR Advanced solution across Metro North. Delivering this will require a dedicated team, with the capacity to work across initiatives and domains, with the knowledge, determination, skills and experience to deliver.

About the Role

A registered Nurse with demonstrated advanced level of practice, autonomous with high level of leadership qualities , ability to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team. The purpose of this role is to be accountable at an advanced practice level for the design, implementation and evaluation of digital education and training programs. This includes managing educational resources for digital applications, such as the integrated electronic record (ieMR). The role contributes to workforce development by providing nursing expertise on educational matter across Digital Metro North and Metro North Health facilities.

  • Reports to the Assistant Nursing Director, QDA, Digital Metro North.
  • Collaborates with Digital Metro North teams and Metro North Health directors/facilities.

Key knowledge and experience

The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) (2015) - Generic Level Statements (GLS) Nurse Grade 7 and the Queensland Health and Metro North Health's commitments and values, in achievement of the organisational goals and Domains of Practice.
  • Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
  • Provide leadership within a legal, professional and ethical framework that ensures contemporary consumer/person centred care and staff management practices.
  • Integrate the principles of contemporary education into nursing practice.
  • Integrate nursing and health care knowledge, skills and ability by supporting an evidence-based learning environment and participating in learning activities/opportunities for self and others.
  • Responsible for the provision or coordination of further education, professional development, and ongoing learning of self and facilitates professional development of others.
