Principal Business Analyst - Investment

Coordinate activities associated with the ongoing development and enhancement of investment and initiation activities which will underpin the successful delivery of new digital initiatives. Digital Metro North is looking for a Principal Business Analyst with experience in investment proposal development, who can lead and manage a small team to progress business process improvements which will inform new digital investment initiatives across a large and complex digital environment. Digital Metro North are looking for someone to lead, with a focus on strengthening early-stage initiation practices, and end-to-end activities for new digital investment requests ensuring investment proposals are clearly articulated, evidence based and support quality outcomes that align with Metro North Health service directions and plans and positioned to deliver value and quality service outcomes.

Digital Metro North (DMN) works collaboratively with Metro North Health (MNH) clinical leads and end users to deliver the digital transformation strategy for Metro North Health. It will ultimately create an integrated digital hospital and healthcare environment across Metro North.  In meeting this strategy significant capital works are being undertaken over the next five years that includes hospital construction/refurbishment and the implementation of ieMR Advanced solution across Metro North. Delivering this will require a dedicated team, with the capacity to work across initiatives and domains, with the knowledge, determination, skills and experience to deliver.

About the Role

  • Reporting to the manager, Business Analysis, initiation and Engagement within Digital Portfolio Services, the role will be responsible for revitalising and strengthening Digital Metro North's investment processes, including the design and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and the delivery of ongoing investment analysis and reporting.

Key knowledge and experience

The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to achieve improvements for investment and initiation analysis including the improvement, refinement and implementation of streamlined practices to ensure consistent, high-quality initiation and investment analysis services.
  • Demonstrated experience in the analysis of process improvement to quickly understand and revitalise the current investment processes including the identification of business challenges to align with ICT strategies.
  • Experience in ICT investment proposal development, investment appraisal or capital planning processes including continuous improvement activities.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing business analysis activities on large-scale complex digital projects and programs, preferably in the healthcare industry.
  • Proven high level negotiation, consultation facilitation and effective written and oral communications skills for use in a complex project and program environment.
