Bymount East State School is a Band 5 school with 6 students in a multi-age class of Prep to Year 6. It is located 64 kilometres North of Roma in the Darling Downs South West Region. Established on this site in 1945 the school serves an established grazing and farming community which actively supports the school with involvement in annual planning, class activities and fund-raising.

About the Cluster

The host school for this cluster is Bymount East State School. The other schools in the cluster are Arcadia Valley State School, Dunkeld State School, Mungallal State School and Yuleba State School.

State and commonwealth funding have established a pilot to trial different approaches to using a HOD-C to support a cluster of small schools. This pilot will run until the end of 2026.

The pilot supports different implementation approaches including virtual support for schools, travelling to schools at different times or a combination of the two. These will depend on the geographical features of the cluster, the needs of the cluster schools, and the flexibility of the successful applicant.
