Lockyer District High School is a school of around 1000 students, located in Gatton in the picturesque Lockyer Valley, approximately one hour from Brisbane and 30 minutes from Toowoomba.

An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate and flexible educator to join the Lockyer District State High School leadership team.

As Deputy Principal responsible for the Senior Schooling portfolio, you will lead our learning outcomes across Year 11 & 12. This role is offered on a temporary full-time basis, from 14 July 2025 until 19 September 2025, unless otherwise determined.

About the Role

As an instructional leader, you will be focused on ensuring all students develop their global competencies so they can transition into the future workforce with confidence and resilience. The successful applicant will, as Deputy Principal (Senior Schooling), be responsible for leading the within our school:

  • Academic leadership - QCAA processes; QCE tracking of student outcomes; supporting the VET RTO Manager
  • Welfare and Engagement leadership - PBL Tier I, PBL Tiers II & III, Wellbeing
  • Events/Operational leadership - Assemblies, Celebrations, Year 11 & 12 Exams, Staff Meetings
  • HR leadership - Heads of Year, YLC/Lead Teacher group, Year 11 & 12 YLCs, Non-teaching Wellbeing Team
