An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled and experienced educational leader to join the team at Killarney P-10 State School, 33km SE of Warwick and 116km SSE of Toowoomba.

Killarney P-10 State School caters for students from Prep to Year 10 with current enrolment numbers at 132.

The ideal Principal will lead an improvement agenda built around innovation, quality teaching and learning, inclusive practices and strong community partnerships. This role is offered on a temporary full-time basis, from 11 August 2025 until 12 December 2025, unless otherwise determined.

About Killarney P-10 State School

Nestled in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range, the school boasts excellent sporting facilities, including spacious multi-purpose courts for tennis and basketball and two large weather-protected areas. With an abundance of space, there are two ovals with a full-size rugby league field, cricket wicket, 400 metre athletic track and three grassed and irrigated netball courts. Four interactive, shaded playgrounds provide opportunities for physical and social development for different age groups.

Our classrooms feature interactive screens and digital devices, complemented by a one-to-one laptop program in Junior Secondary. The Pathways to Learning Centre includes a modern audio-visual room and an extensive resource collection. The Arts Centre supports creativity with a versatile performance space for dramatic arts, green room, and spacious indoor and outdoor learning areas.

About the Role

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Uphold the principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
