About the Role:
The Principal Project Officer will contribute to the implementation of the Family Support Coordinator initiative in Darling Downs South West Region through:
- Planning and accountability for project activities and strategic stakeholder partnerships that deliver improvement in attendance and engagement and behaviour from Prep to Year 2 in identified schools.
- Provision of strategic advice, training, oversight and governance to the Family Support Coordinator role being piloted in schools across Darling Downs South West Region.
Responsibilities Include:
The Principal Project Officer will:
- Provide advice to schools on the operation of the Family Support Coordinator role aligned with policies, procedures and legislation.
- Provide advice on managing potential issues in consultation with internal stakeholders, including Family Support Coordinators, school leaders, regional teams and statewide leaders of the pilot.
- Initiate, develop and maintain effective communication and collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including connecting with regional teams and external organisations that support families in the early years.
- Analyse data and refine regional systems and processes to support implementation and evaluation of the Family Support Coordinator pilot.
- Support the management of recruitment, workforce planning and training based on school requirements.
About You:
The Principal Project Officer will play a key role in both “doing the work” and “shaping the work” by partnering with Central Office and contributing to future models of student support through the Family Support Coordinator initiative.
The Darling Downs South West Region is looking for a skilled and strategic leader with a passion for innovation and building workforce capability. The successful applicant will have expertise in project planning, implementation and review, as well as demonstrated skills in collaboration to shape and deliver this new approach to supporting students in Prep to Year 2.
