Middle Ridge State School is seeking a motivated Cleaners to fill two (2) permanent cleaning positions with 51 hours to split per week between both roles, plus ADO both AM and PM shifts each day.

Applicants will contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the site by providing a high level of cleaning support and will ensure that the duties outlined for the position are completed to a high standard as determined by their supervisor, in accordance with the approved school cleaning program.

About the Role

Your role and responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • The role involves a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties aimed at ensuring a clean and safe school environment. Responsibilities include cleaning windows, doors, sinks, drinking fountains, lavatory basins, glassware, and cupboards, as well as sanitising toilet facilities and sick bays. It also includes maintaining equipment, controlling cobwebs and mildew using extendable tools, and cleaning various surfaces such as concrete, bitumen, asphalt, and paved areas. Other cleaning tasks include dusting furniture and equipment, sweeping, vacuuming, removing graffiti, and maintaining vinyl and timber floors, including buffing, stripping, and polishing.
  • Security-related tasks include activating and deactivating school security systems, and locking or unlocking buildings as needed. The role also involves liaising with the Principal or Business Manager regarding the purchase and replacement of cleaning materials. Additionally, the person in this role will report security, safety, or damage concerns to the Principal, Business Manager, or Schools Officer (Facilities and/or Grounds) and refer members of the public to the relevant school personnel.
  • Other duties include the disposal of rubbish and litter control, removal of materials from drains and gutters, and performing any other appropriate cleaning tasks as directed by the Principal or Business Manager. The position may require taking on additional suitable responsibilities consistent with the role, as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.
