We are seeking a Principal Advisor to lead the development and implementation of strategic policy and system initiatives within Education Services. This role involves managing operations to support schools effectively, providing expert advice to senior officers and educational leaders, and guiding strategic decision-making in line with departmental policies and legislation. The Principal Advisor will also drive collaboration, communication, and information sharing to address complex challenges and support local service delivery and system-wide improvement. About the Role:

42 Queensland state schools in the most disadvantaged, complex communities will receive a specialised system response that supports them to collaborate with partners and across government agencies to deliver locally responsive and integrated strategies to benefit students and their communities.
Schools participating in the Partnership Initiative focus on strong collaboration in place with key educational partners and other government agencies to deliver locally responsive and integrated strategies that respond to the contextual factors impacting educational outcomes for children and young people.
The Principal Advisor works with broad direction on tasks that are of a complex or specific nature within the Local Support Team of three team members. You will be experienced in working with a project team and play a critical role in support the work of the region and the School Supervisor of the Partnership Initiative schools in Darling Downs South West region.
Partnership Initiative is trialling new approaches and ways of working. To support School Supervisors and school and regional priorities there are 3 Local Support teams across various locations across Queensland to support the 42 Partnership Initiative schools.
This role will suit someone who is passionate about making a difference in complex communities in Queensland. You will be able to use data purposefully and ethically to evaluate or monitor the progress and impact of the project at school, community and program level.
The role will draw on your strengths being able to communicate with multiple stakeholders, supporting integrated and cross sector partnerships, be exceptional at prioritising, meeting timelines and presenting information in succinct and clear ways.
The Principal Advisor reports to the Director, Education Services, based in Toowoomba.
