The teacher aide position will help contribute to the provision of a quality educational service by assisting and supporting teachers with preparation and enhancement of learning materials.
This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.16FTE), 12 hours per fortnight (working Fridays for September 2, 2025 ONLY)

About the Role
Classroom Support
- Assist with the implementation of learning activities as directed by the teacher
- Support individual students or small groups during literacy, numeracy, and play-based task
- Encourage student participation and engagement in classroom routines
- Support the development of oral language and social skills through guided play and conversation
- Reinforce positive behaviour aligned with classroom behaviour management strategies
Learning Environment
- Prepare classroom resources and learning materials (cutting, laminating, setting up tasks)
- Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and organised learning environment
- Set up and pack down activity stations, outdoor play, and group rotations
- Support daily routines including transitions, lining up, unpacking bags, etc.
Student Wellbeing & Supervision
- Supervise students during classroom activities, breaks, toileting, and transitions
- Assist students with basic needs (e.g., tying shoes, toileting reminders, hand washing)
- Support students with additional needs as directed by the classroom or support teacher (personal care)
Communication & Teamwork
- Maintain open, respectful communication with the classroom teacher and school staff
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the school's policies and procedures
Other Duties
- Photocopying, filing, and organising student work and portfolios
- Supporting school events (e.g. Under 8's Day, Book Week, Sports Day)
- Assisting with home readers, sight words, and student assessments where directed
- Before and after school playground duty
About You

- Strong interpersonal skills
- Effective communication and time management skills
- Interest and/or experience in working with young children
- High attention to detail, with initiative and motivation to achieve goals
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and build strong relationships with a diverse range of people
- High energy and physical ability to actively support students in classrooms and play areas
- Professional respect for privacy and confidentiality of student and family information
