Chinchilla State School is seeking a temporary Deputy Principal role to join their leadership team.

Expressions of Interest are invited for this temporary full-time position for 5 weeks, from 18 August until 19 September 2025 (end of Term 3), unless otherwise determined.  Any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

About the school

Chinchilla State School is situated in the Western Downs and built on strong community engagement.

With approximately 430 Prep to Year 6 students, the school delivers a responsive curriculum with a focus on evidence-informed practices.

About the role

As Deputy Principal, you will:

  • Lead the school community with the Principal to develop, articulate and enact a shared educational vision focused on quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Step into the Principal role when required.
  • Demonstrate values-based, ethical and moral leadership.
  • Lead the Positive Culture team, and oversee enrolments, behaviour and assembly processes.
  • Provide leadership for Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) team, Timetabling, Surveys, 
  • Line Manage Year 3 and 4 cohorts, Chaplaincy and District relief teachers (DRT).
  • Coordinate communication including Social Media, Religious Instruction, Teacher Replacement, and Year 6 Transitions.
