Are you passionate about helping young people move from school into training or employment?

Queensland Pathways State College, Toowoomba Campus, is seeking an Industry and Vocational Training Officer to build strong connections between students, industry and training providers.

This role plays a key part in supporting School-Based Apprenticeships, Traineeships and work-readiness pathways for students facing barriers to mainstream education, helping them achieve meaningful post-school outcomes.

This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.90FTE), 65.25 hours per fortnight.

About the School

Queensland Pathways State College (QPSC) is a purpose-driven state school supporting young people aged 15 to 18 who face significant barriers to mainstream education. With campuses across Queensland, including Toowoomba, QPSC offers a 12-month senior transitions program focused on literacy, numeracy, workplace skills and wellbeing. About the Role

Based at the Toowoomba Campus, the Industry and Vocational Training Officer works closely with students, school leadership, employers and training providers to support vocational pathways and post-school success.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building and maintaining strong partnerships with industry and business to source School-Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship opportunities for students.
  • Developing engagement activities to promote School-Based Traineeships, Apprenticeships and TAFE training as career pathways.
  • Coordinating work experience placement programs, including monitoring students in the workplace and managing records as per departmental policy.
  • Providing regular updates to the Principal/Deputy Principal on program outcomes and addressing any issues impacting success.
  • Supporting students through work readiness programs and one-on-one or small group learning activities.
