Back Plains State School is seeking a reliable and hardworking Cleaner to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and community. This is a permanent part-time position (0.49FTE or 37 hours per fortnight). School cleaners play a vital role in the school community by reducing the spread of disease through high standards of cleaning practices and keeping the appearance of the school at a high standard. It is the responsibility of school cleaners to deliver a clean and hygienic learning environment for all students. About Us:
Back Plains State School began as a result of a meeting that was held on the 11 August, 1877. In 1878, 10 acres was purchased and a tender put out for the building of the school and a residence. The school was known as the 'Clifton Homestead Area School' the other nearest school was at the Clifton Coal Pits. In 1918 its name was changed to Back Plains. A new building was built in 1956 (now the Administration and Library) and a new residence was built in 1961.
The school currently has approximately 25 students across Prep to Grade Six. Students are split into two different classes. The staff are committed to the education of all students and have wide range of experience in a variety of contexts to make the students experiences, challenging and rewarding.
About the Role:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the site by providing a high level of cleaning.
- Ensure that the duties prescribed for the position are completed to an acceptable standard as determined by their supervisor, in accordance with the approved school cleaning program.
- Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.
