Chinchilla State School is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and organised Schools Officer (Grounds and Facilities) to join our dynamic team.
This is a Temporary full-time position, commencing ASAP to Friday 10 July 2026 with the possibility of extension.
As the Schools Officer, (Grounds and Facilities), you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the school by providing a high level of grounds and facilities support to the Principal and Business Manager.

This is a progressional position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next, once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of both classification ranges.

Step Into Your Next Chapter:
As the Schools Officer (Grounds and Facilities), your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Proven hands-on experience in building maintenance including routine repairs and upkeep of school facilities, furniture, fixtures and equipment.
- Maintain effective communication with the Principal and Business Manager regarding scheduled and urgent maintenance tasks.
- Oversee maintenance of school oval through regular mowing, lawn and garden maintenance, including regular weeding, use of appropriate insecticides and fertilisers, plant, water and care for trees, shrubs, gardens.
- Ensure compliance with WPH&S requirements including safe storage and handling of chemicals, fertilisers and fuel. Report safety hazards to Business Manager.
