Clifton State High School is seeking a student-focused and supportive person to join our team as a Youth Support Coordinator. The successful applicant will primarily be responsible for providing individual and small group support to students to maximise engagement within education. This is a permanent part time position of 14.5hrs per fortnight (0.2FTE)

About our School:
Clifton State High School is a small, rural, co-educational secondary school located between Toowoomba and Warwick offering enrolment in years 7 to 12. The school offers a wide variety of opportunities for all students. There are a broad range of subject choices and extra curricula activities. We are extremely proud of our successful Cattle Team, Agricultural Operations, Instrumental Music Group and Pathways program. Our school is small enough to offer an individualised and caring learning environment, but large enough to provide maximum opportunities for student achievement in every field.
About the Role:
As the Youth Support Coordinator, you will:
- Provide a high level of support to students to overcome barriers and maximise engagement within education.
- Provide individual support, case management and, where appropriate, group support to students to maximise their engagement with education and training.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain records of student contact on a daily basis.
- Support students to achieve satisfactory learning outcomes.
- Develop relationships between school and families to assist at risk students to remain engaged with their education.
- Monitor attendance patterns of students or groups of students in accordance with the school's attendance plan.
- Be part of the professional support team within our school.
- Liaise with welfare agencies and other government departments.
- Be actively involved in the schools breakfast club program.
- Develop and implement programs to support social and emotional wellbeing.
