Toowoomba North State School is seeking a motivated, hands-on and committed Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities to join our school community.
In this rewarding role, you will help maintain our grounds, gardens, buildings and sporting facilities, ensuring they are safe, functional and well-
presented for students, staff and visitors. Working closely with the Principal, Business Manager and school staff, you will undertake a variety of grounds, maintenance and facilities tasks while contributing to a positive and welcoming learning environment.

About the Role:
As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the school by providing a high level of grounds and facilities to the Principal, Business Manager or nominated delegate.
You will perform a range of activities to ensure that the school is maintained to a high standard; follow set instructions; and have independence to perform a variety of day-to-day services that are routine in nature. However, the role receives regular supervision when undertaking duties that are non-routine in nature.
As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities you will not be required to perform any task or repairs that would normally require the services of a qualified tradesperson.
The position reports directly to the Principal, Business Manager or nominated delegate.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain school grounds, gardens, sporting facilities and buildings to ensure a safe, functional and welcoming environment.
- Undertake general maintenance, minor repairs, security, asset management and operational support across the school.
- Coordinate grounds care, waste management, event setup, stock control and facility upkeep in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.
- Liaise with staff, contractors and the wider school community to support the effective operation and ongoing maintenance of school facilities.

Progressional roles show a salary range spanning two classifications. Appointment will be made at the level appropriate to skill and fulfilment of required criteria.
