Your opportunity:

Darling Downs South West Region is seeking experienced enthusiastic applicants for an expression of interest to fill a full-time temporary Guidance Officer vacancy for Norfolk Island Central School - Prep to Year 12.

We require a Guidance Officer who is able to work as part of the support team at Norfolk Island Central School while also being able to work independently to deliver high quality services.  The Guidance Officer provides a leadership role in supporting the coordination of school based and external services at Norfolk Island Central School.  An applicant with knowledge of diverse learners - Prep to Senior Schooling, inclusive practices, psychometric assessment processes, mental health support, senior pathways and behavioural needs would be highly favourable.

As a Guidance Officer, you have the opportunity to:

  • provide professional expertise, leadership and support to school communities and networks in the development and implementation of plans, programs and procedures to assist students in achieving positive educational, developmental and lifelong learning outcomes; and
  • collaboratively negotiate, develop and implement programs for students that have a focus on preventative and early intervention strategies, are responsive to identified personal, social, emotional and educational needs, and aim to foster resilience and personal skills development.
