We are looking for a Principal Technology Officer to join the Enterprise Technology Services Branch on a fixed term temporary, full time basis. The successful candidate will provide high level technical direction, support and advice to maintain defined enterprise service levels in one or more technology domains.

How you will be assessed
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key capabilities, knowledge and experience. Within the context of the responsibilities described above under ‘Key Responsibilities', the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

•    Demonstrated ability or the ability to quickly learn ServiceNow and ITIL Service Management processes, primarily incident/problem/test/change and configuration management. (SFIA: USUP Level 3, PBMG Level 4, CHMG Level 3, CFMG Level 3, TEST Level 2)
•    Demonstrated high level of expertise and experience in the following technology domains in support of enterprise ICT services in a large customer focused organisation
 
o    Redhat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) / Oracle Linux system administration 
o    Virtualised environments especially VMWare / AWS
o    Shell/Python scripting 

•    Experience in the following technical domains would also be highly regarded

o    Oracle Solaris 11 / Oracle Solaris Cluster / Solaris zones / ZFS
o    Centralised configuration management especially with Ansible
o    Provision of highly available (HA) infrastructure
o    The Internet protocol suite (TCP/IP) especially DNS, SFTP, HTTP, SMTP

•    Demonstrated high level technical expertise evidenced by the ability to provide professional support, advice and solutions. (SFIA: ITOP Level 4). 
•    Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including the ability to negotiate, advise, influence others and work collaboratively with people to make decisions. (NHS: Effective and strategic influencing). 
•    Proven ability to work in a team environment, developing effective working relationships with team members and stakeholders. (NHS Collaborative Working). 
•    Demonstrated ability to analyse situations and successfully implement solutions within a quality framework to meet service agreements. (SFIA: SLMO Level 4). 
•    Ability to prioritise tasks to ensure deadlines are achieved.

Specific Working Conditions:

•    Participation in on-call arrangements and overtime are required for this position. Appropriate remuneration under the relevant award will apply. 
•    It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against COVID-19 (Health Employment Directive No. 12/21 and Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70).
