The role: 

As the Principal Project Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of financial planning, forecasting and reporting to support the effective governance and performance of complex IM/ICT programs and projects within the Delivery Services branch.

Key responsibilities

As the Principal Project Officer – Finance your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of the project/program funding, costing and financial planning and reporting frameworks and supporting governing artefacts, processes and systems.
  •  Lead the consolidation of budgeting and forecasting across the delivery portfolio and contribute to the delivery of month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial reporting processes including multi-year budgets.
  • Provide high-quality trusted advice, analysis and recommendations to Delivery Services Branch executives on the financial performance trends associated with the delivery portfolio.
  • Develop and deliver financial reports to senior stakeholders, including commentary on underspends, funding adjustments, and project financial performance.
  • Liaise with project managers, program directors, and other financial stakeholders to ensure financial data integrity and alignment with the Financial Management Practice Manual (FMPM).

Are you right for this role?

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience in a similar role providing services to a large and complex delivery portfolio.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Knowledge of the Financial Management Practice Manual (FMPM).
  • Stakeholder management experience.
