The role: 

Reporting to the Technical Delivery Manager, the Principal Technical Specialist will play a technical lead role in the implementation of Vulnerability Management Security Solutions, within the Cyber Security Program. The roles will provide technical implementation skills, and analysis and expert advice of the Vulnerability Management Services (VMS).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the design, deployment and configuration of Vulnerability Management Systems (VMS).
  • Contribute to the development of project plans and schedules, identifying potential risks and issues.
  • Actively engage in project meetings and collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of security solutions.
  • Provide high-level support and ensure the security solutions are operational and effective.
  • Conduct regular maintenance, updates, and performance tuning of security tools.
  • Implement proactive measures to enhance system resilience against emerging threats.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop, socialise, and implement technical security plans.
  • Contribute expert advice and analysis on current and future security requirements.
  • Provide comprehensive support during planned ICT changes and updates, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum security.

Is this opportunity for you?

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Extensive experience, including exposure to industry certifications in Vulnerabilities Management Services domain. Including exposure to Rapid 7's Vulnerabilities Management Service Solution.
  • Demonstrated ability in configuring and documenting enterprise systems with experience in some or all of the following hardware and software: Microsoft, Oracle Solaris, Oracle Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMware vSphere and Windows 10 Desktop Operating System.
  • Proven ability to participate in a highly skilled technical team providing high-level technical direction, standardisation and support of enterprise infrastructure in a large customer focused organisation.
  • Knowledge of the ITIL Service Management and Service Delivery methodology, the Prince2 Project methodology and utilising conceptual and analytical skills, respond to complex client business requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with multiple key internal projects, Operations and external technology vendor stakeholders by the use of high level written and interpersonal consultations, negotiation and communication skills including the ability to influence others.
  • Ability to work individually and within a high-performance team with time critical and financially constrained tasks and complex deliverables by providing guidance to technical resources in the team.

While experience in health care is not a mandatory requirement, we highly value candidates who have demonstrated relevant experience in clinical systems, health IT, or digital health. If your experience is in other sectors, please make sure to outline how your knowledge can transfer to the healthcare context.
