The role:
The Director, Contracts and Procurement, Operations and Performance Branch, has eight direct reports across three teams, being Software and Services, Hardware and Telecommunication; and Digital Hospitals.
The Director Contracts and Procurement has responsibility for:
- Develop a strong team culture that supports the success of the team and empowers the individuals within it to perform to their full potential.
- Encourage and recognise the performance of staff, ensuring that performance appraisal and training and development plans are in place.
- Promote and foster professional development through coaching, mentoring and providing opportunities to advance leadership and management skills, technical expertise and interpersonal skills, leading by example in the pursuit of continuous learning and quality improvements.
- Develop outstanding relationships with senior leaders, procurement decision makers and business/service owners.
- Develop and maintain strategic and business relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally in order to maximise benefits, align to Whole of Government, Queensland Health and eHealth Queensland's strategy, ensure positive working relationships and working to identify opportunities for business improvement.
- Lead the development and implementation of overarching eHealth procurement strategies and plans that will continually increase value for money and improve health care services. Conduct regular strategic supplier assessments and ensure that robust supplier engagement and management arrangements are in place.
About you
We are searching for someone who:
- Sophisticated consulting and communications skills which are conducive to the establishment and maintenance of business partnerships and positively influencing others in a significant environment of Organisational transformation and performance accountability.
- Highly developed leadership and managerial proficiency, including the ability to develop a high performing team, and to apply resource management skills to ensure resources are optimally allocated in meeting defined goals.
- A proven track record and a strongly held conviction and energy for making significant and positive contributions to Organisational change and transformation, including having executive thinking ability, and capacity to deal with abstract and complex Organisational issues.
- Knowledge of good business management practices and public sector structures, processes and policies.
