The role:
Queensland Health recognises that progressing our digital health strategy is an essential part of our ongoing commitment to delivering safe, effective, and accessible healthcare to all Queenslanders.
Implementing an integrated electronic Medical Record (ieMR) across all public hospitals in Queensland is at the heart of our digital transformation and is essential to delivering care, closer to home. Already used in numerous facilities today, the ieMR is improving care and patient outcomes by offering Queensland Health clinicians access to real-time clinical information for their patients, at point of care.
Queensland Health is currently undertaking several of the largest health ICT programs and projects ever seen in Australia. The largest of these, the Digital Hospital Program (DHP) is a visionary program which continues to enable clinical services and enhance our technological capability by extending the availability of the ieMR into more hospitals and community care venues.
The Digital Hospital Program will deliver advanced ieMR to 5 Metro North hospitals over the first 5 years. In parallel Queensland Health will be adding over 2,811 additional hospital beds across the state, with four entirely new hospitals and expansions to 11 already world class facilities.
This program represents an opportunity for you to make your mark on the future of healthcare and help to shape the future of health centres across Queensland, for Queenslanders for generations to come.
Do you want to be a part of a dynamic, fast paced project team? Do you want to make a real difference by laying the foundations; and building clinical care capability that will provide digital healthcare solutions in the home and at the bedside, both now and in the future?
Driven by a desire to improve healthcare outcomes, you will have vision and motivation and will be able to use exceptional communication skills to provide strategic advice and direction to both your team and our stakeholders.
Further duties include:
- Develop or assist with the development of project management documentation, including reports, formal project plans, budgets and estimates.
- Monitor and report on work package activities against agreed criteria.
- Monitor resources and expenditure within the agreed work package budgets against the Project forecasts.
- Support risk and issue identification, assessment and mitigation activities by ensuring risks and issues are documented, reviewed and escalated as appropriate.
- Ensure use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies and tools in line with Queensland Health policy.
- Maintain relationships with and between internal and external stakeholders, facilitate effective communications and foster relationships through lessons learned, feedback mechanisms and management of expectations.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience in an IM/ICT project environment, including risk management, reporting and budgeting, and an ability to coordinate the delivery of work packages.
- Experience in, or the ability to assist with the compilation of program/project information, maintenance of program/project files and the preparation and presentation of management reports.
- Knowledge of appropriate project management methodologies (preferably PRINCE2), and an ability to provide advice on the use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies and tools.
- Whilst not mandatory, a relevant qualification (e.g. PRINCE2) would be highly regarded.
- Proven effective oral and written communication skills, and an ability to work in a team environment developing effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Demonstrated analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills and an ability to coordinate multiple tasks within agreed priorities, timeframes and accountabilities.
Experience working in a prison facility is desirable, however not mandatory.
To apply for this exciting opportunity, submit your resume and a short statement (maximum 2 pages) on how your experience, abilities, knowledge and personal qualities are relevant for the role, taking into account the key responsibilities and attributes noted in the ‘How you will be assessed?'
