Living in the Atherton Tablelands Region

Just 90 minutes from Cairns by car, you'll find yourself in the stunning Atherton Tablelands Region. Watch the scenery change as you climb “up the hill”, be sure to keep an eye out for local landmarks painted on the granite boulders as you pass.  Take the time to pause at one of many spectacular lookouts and take in the amazing landscape below – it is a truly incredible sight.

The tablelands area is incredibly unique with stunning rainforest, volcanic formations, crater lakes and views across rolling pastures to Mt Bartle Frere, the highest mountain in Queensland.  It is also home to an amazing array of local produce, with plenty of opportunities to sample everything from chocolates and cheese to wines and the most delicious macadamia nuts you'll ever taste!  You can pop into popular Mungalli Creek Dairy and learn about their milk production, or sit down to a high tea and daydream as you lose yourself in the beauty of the landscape.
