This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

A location as beautiful and diverse as the students who call it home, Far North Queensland has so much to offer you. Covering approximately 275,000km2, our region stretches from Cardwell in the south, to the Torres Strait in the north and inland west to the Gulf of Carpentaria. Due to the geographic diversity in Far North Queensland Region candidates are encouraged to research schools prior to applying. The Schools Directory map may assist in identifying where schools are geographically in the state, school websites will provide insight into individual schools and local council websites will provide insight into individual communities.

Your Opportunity

This continuous applicant pool is open for candidates interested in employment opportunities as a Principal (Levels 1-10) in FNQ Region and meet the mandatory employment requirements as detailed in the attached role description.

Applicants are encouraged to discuss support, capacity to release and that the classification level/s nominated are appropriate, with their current supervisor prior to applying for this reliving pool. Approval for release from your substantive position will be required before any offer of a relieving opportunity is made.

Applications will be reviewed and considered throughout 2025, if and when Principal vacancies are identified. The submission of an application to this applicant pool does not guarantee an offer of employment or an application assessment response from the region. The positions may range in duration up to a school semester.

The region may also elect to progress a separate EOI for individual positions when considered appropriate.
