An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled and experienced educational secondary school leader to join the Executive Team at Northern Peninsula Area State College (NPASC) as the Head of Campus - Bamaga Senior Campus.
NPASC is a K-12 college with 3 campuses - Ama Mary Eseli Injinoo Campus and Bamaga Junior Campus have Kindy to
Year 6 whilst Bamaga Senior Campus meets the needs of Years 7 - 12. Each campus is managed by a Head of Campus, with the College Principal overseeing strategic direction. The College caters for approximately 600 students across the 3 campuses.

About the Northern Peninsula Area
Considered the gateway to the Torres Strait, the Northern Peninsula Area (NPA) region is a narrow peninsula bordered by the Coral Sea in the east, the Arafura Sea and Gulf of Carpentaria to the west and the Torres Strait to the north. The NPA region is made up of five First Nations communities; Injinoo, Umagico, Bamaga, New Mapoon and Seisia; each with its own history, languages and traditions strongly influenced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage.
Bamaga, located on the Jardine River, 850km north-west of Cairns by road, is the unofficial capital of the NPA. Today, Bamaga is home to approximately 1050 people of whom, more than 80% identify as being of Aborigianl or Torres Strait Islander heritage.
Access is by road (during dry season) and by air all year round. Local amenities include a hospital, community health services, sporting facilities, IBIS grocery store, tourist accommodation and more. NPA is an Alcohol Management Plan community, with a hotel in the main street of town and an award winning licensed restaurant at the resort.
Your Opportunity
As the Head of Campus - Bamga Senior Campus, you will work with the College Leadership under the direction of the College Principal and will lead the provision of high quality educational opportunities to students of Bamaga Senior Campus. The vision of the College is for all of the students to reach their true potential, to achieve their individual goals and to make a positive contribution to their communities. NPASC offers a rich curriculum program that values and promotes each student's right to experience success, whilst at the same time encouraging each student to be responsible, respectful, motivated and confident.
Your Accountabilities
- Lead and manage the Bamaga Senior Campus, ensuring the delivery of high-quality education and fostering a positive, inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment.
- Oversee the development and implementation of an innovative and diverse curriculum that meets the needs of all students, promoting academic and pathway opportunities and personal growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the community, parents and other stakeholders to support student learning and well-being.
- Support leaders and mentor teaching and non-teaching staff, providing professional development opportunities and fostering a collaborative and supportive work culture.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and continuous improvement of the college, aligning campus goals with the overall vision and mission of the College.
