Deputy Principal - Tropical North Learning Academy - Smithfield State High School

An opportunity is available for a dynamic and dedicated educator to join the Executive Leadership Team at Tropical North Learning Academy - Smithfield State High School. This is a temporary, full-time position commencing in Term 3, 2025 until 19 September 2025, unless otherwise determined.

As Deputy Principal, you will lead the Middle School Year 9 and 10 portfolio and play a pivotal role in several key strategic areas, including student leadership and the EQI International Student Program. Experience in timetabling and human resource management is highly desirable, as well as school event management (Presentation Night).

In this role, you will collaborate closely with curriculum Heads of Department to drive excellence in teaching and learning.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Deputise for the Principal when required.
  • Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.

  • A strong commitment to building positive and productive relationships with students, staff, families, and the broader community is essential 
    for success.
