Northern Peninsula Area State College is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and experienced Project Manager to join the senior leadership team in a unique trial opportunity as General Manager of the College.

This pivotal role will provide high-level strategic advice and operational support to the Principal and leadership team, contributing to the effective governance and overall management of the school.

Northern Peninsula Area State College is a unique Kindy to Year 12 school located at the tip of Cape York Peninsula, with three campuses serving the communities of Injinoo and Bamaga. Your Opportunity 

As the Project Manager, you will: 

  • Provide high level strategic advice, analysis and support to the Principal and senior management team in relation to school operational and governance matters including developing, monitoring and reviewing the school's strategic and operational plans and effective project management of emerging issues. 
  • Provide project planning and support to assist with the development and implementation of strategic initiatives in the management of the school including financial, infrastructure and human resource functions to provide a high level of appropriate corporate services support to the school and community.

The Project Manager reports to the Principal and may have line management responsibility for relevant staff. 

Your Responsibilities 

As the Project Manager, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:  

  •  Strategic Oversight: Lead and manage operations across all three campuses, working closely with the Principal and leadership team to implement strategic initiatives aligned with the College's vision and goals.
  • Operational Leadership: Ensure the professional management of financial, infrastructure, and human resource functions, in line with school and departmental priorities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrate exceptional negotiation and influencing skills to align key stakeholders with the strategic direction of the College.
  • Community Partnerships: Build and maintain strong relationships with staff, parents, government agencies, community groups, industry, and businesses to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Collaborative Development: Identify and create opportunities for stakeholder engagement in school initiatives, fostering shared goals and continuous improvement.
