Your Role
As a key member of the school community, the Guidance Officer provides professional expertise, leadership, and support to enhance student engagement, wellbeing, and achievement. This role focuses on proactive, preventative, and responsive strategies to support students' personal, social, emotional, and educational development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering counselling, assessment and advice to support students' learning, behaviour, mental health, and career development
- Collaborating with school staff, families, and external agencies to coordinate case management, referrals, and tailored student support
- Conducting psychoeducational assessments and contributing to educational planning and interventions
- Supporting the implementation of student protection, behaviour support, and risk management processes
- Providing leadership in response to critical incidents, transitions, and student reintegration into learning pathways
This role plays a vital part in creating safe, inclusive and supportive learning environments that foster resilience and lifelong learning.
