About the Role
As Head of Department - Visual Arts, you will join an award-winning school nationally recognised for excellence in Visual Arts, Science, Technology, and Sport, and proudly home to a Rugby League School of Excellence. In this role, you will lead the Visual Arts curriculum, driving high-quality teaching and learning aligned with school and departmental initiatives. Our senior school offers a broad range of academic and vocational pathways, including oversight of a regional vocational academy, while the junior school supports Year 7 students with a strong core curriculum and diverse elective options. The school also offers enrichment and extension programs in dance, drama, music, technical theatre, and sport. You will play a key role in developing teaching excellence, delivering strategic educational goals, and nurturing positive relationships among students, staff, and the wider school community.
Your Responsibilities
As the Head of Department - Visual Arts, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
