About the Role  

As the Head of Department - Mathematics, you will join a dynamic and progressive team with responsibility for the strategic and operational leadership of the Mathematics Department, including the delivery of QCAA syllabuses and the Australian Curriculum across Numeracy (Year 7/8), Year 7-10 Mathematics, Essential Mathematics, General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics, and the Short Course in Numeracy. This role is ideal for an energetic, future-focused leader skilled at managing the demands of a core subject area while prioritizing student outcomes. The successful candidate will have a strong student-focused approach and the ability to build genuine, professional relationships with students, staff, families, and the wider community. Strong relational skills are essential, as this role plays a key part in the school's strategic leadership team. 

Your Responsibilities 

As the Head of Department - Mathematics, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:  

  • Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Engage in lifelong learning and professional development.
  • Build partnerships with students, parents, agencies, and community groups.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
