As Head of Special Education Services, your responsibilities include:

  • Lead and coordinate the Special Education Program across the school
  • Provide expert advice and coaching to teachers to support inclusive practice and adjustments
  • Lead planning and case management for students with complex learning needs
  • Support and build the capability of staff, including teachers and teacher aides
  • Collaborate with school leadership to enhance whole-school inclusive practices
  • Build strong partnerships with families and external agencies
  • Use student data and evidence to monitor and improve support strategies

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT)
  • Experience supporting students with disability and diverse learning needs
  • Strong knowledge of inclusive education and reasonable adjustments
  • Proven ability to lead, collaborate, and communicate effectively

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a HOSES or similar leadership role
  • Qualifications or training in special education or inclusive practice
