About the School
Yarrabah State School caters for an indigenous student population enrolled from Pre-prep to year 10 across three separate campuses within the community of Yarrabah in Far North Queensland. A Special Education Unit supporting students across all campuses is located at the Primary campus with a specialist facility provided at the Secondary campus.
Your Role
Responbilities include, but are not limited to:
- Contribute to strategic facilities planning and budgeting, providing advice and identifying opportunities to achieve cost savings across capital works, maintenance, utilities, and infrastructure projects.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, departmental policies, and operational standards while coordinating routine maintenance services, including electrical testing, pest control, and facility upkeep.
- Lead and support workforce management activities, including the recruitment, induction, training, and supervision of School Officers, trainees, and venue hire operations.
- Oversee maintenance programs, equipment servicing, efficiency audits, waste management processes, and the effective allocation of duties across facilities and grounds teams.
- Manage school stores and asset systems, including stock control, inventory management, equipment recording, banking of school funds, and the distribution of supplies.
- Maintain the security and operational integrity of school facilities through key and security system management, after-hours emergency response, vandalism prevention, and tracking of maintenance and repair requirements.
