Please note that Forensic Science Queensland has recently been through a Machinery of Government change, and as of 1 July 2024, was administratively assigned to the Department of Justice and Attorney-General (DJAG).
Forensic Science Queensland is seeking an experienced Project Lead, Facilities to play a vital role in the successful delivery of facilities and infrastructure projects.
The role involves ensuring compliance with service quality standards and health and safety policies while providing specialist advice to the executive team regarding FSQ Facilities and Infrastructure projects in a complex environment. It requires conducting options analysis and preparing documentation aimed at minimising disruptions to FSQ operations. Additionally, developing and implementing effective communication and change management strategies for projects is essential.
Coordinating the delivery of facilities and infrastructure work packages is also a key responsibility, ensuring responsiveness to customer needs. Finally, overseeing the commissioning and handover processes for projects is crucial, including the identification and rectification of defects during the liability periods.
The role requires advanced project management skills, encompassing planning, consultation, and organisation. An ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail is essential. Proven experience in leading the development and delivery of innovative facilities or infrastructure projects is crucial, including expertise in business case development and project documentation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are necessary, along with a track record of autonomously researching and analysing information to provide sound advice. The role demands the capacity to offer authoritative guidance on project matters and manage complex changes within facilities and infrastructure programs effectively.
Monitoring client and stakeholder satisfaction and constructively addressing issues to ensure positive outcomes is also important. Exceptional oral and written communication skills, along with change management, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, are required to engage and negotiate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, and project management applications is necessary for preparing reports, presentations, and data analysis.
