The Role

An opportunity has become available for multiple Clinical Nurses (Inpatient Unit Palliative Care) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia. 

You will

• Coordinate and plan clinical care utilising high-level contemporary clinical and problem solving skills
• Provide expert nursing care to patients receiving medical treatment for Haematology and Oncology disorders
• Actively support and lead quality improvement and research initiatives within the work unit
• Act as a resource for expert clinical care needs and conduct education for staff, clients and the community

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent  
• Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Permanent Part time (two positions, 56 and 64 hrs p.f.)
• Base salary ranging from $54.45 - $58.30 per hour

About Us

The supportive and specialist palliative care inpatient unit is a 20 bed purpose built unit located at Robina hospital. Patients are admitted to the Robina inpatient unit for: Short periods for pain and symptom control and other reasons defined within the Palliative Care Australia (PCA), and World Health Organisation (WHO) definition of palliative care.
