The Role
An opportunity has become available for an Occupational Therapist / Psychologist or Social Worker – Senior (Suicide Prevention Program) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide efficient and responsive mental health assessment and management at a high level, within the Acute Care Team
- Provide suicide-preventative specific evidence based interventions and recommendations for future prevention program and research
- Demonstrate expert clinical knowledge and application of advanced clinical problem solving skills in the management and care in the area of suicide prevention
- Provide, support, monitor and evaluate holistic, comprehensive care and ensure continuity of support to patient care
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work
- AHPRA Registration (Occupational Therapist and Psychologist only)
- Eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (Social Worker only)
- Driver Licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $132 562 - $143 924 per annum

The Acute Care Team (ACT) is a specialised mental health service that seeks to deliver care and support that respects the individual's rights, preserves their dignity, and promotes recovery and inclusion. The Acute Care Team is a mobile assertive outreach crisis response team that offers a range of short-term options tailored to meet individual needs in the community which may also include acute care in the immediate post discharge phase of an inpatient admission.
