This role provides nursing leadership and advanced care to complex Medical Oncology, Haematology and Radiation Oncology patients undergoing treatment for malignancies and other Autoimmune Disorders. Based in Southport.

The Role

An opportunity has become available for several Clinical Nurses (Cancer and Blood Disorders) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia. 

You will

• Monitor clinical staff capabilities and mentor colleagues for development
• Lead quality improvement projects and encourage staff engagement
• Administer chemotherapy and supervise novice nurses
• Resolve staff conflict and escalate concerns when necessary 

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent  
• Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Permanent part time (two positions, 38 and 46 hrs p.f.).
• Base salary ranging from $54.44 - $58.30 per hour.

The Cancer and Blood Disorders Inpatient Unit is a 24-hour ward open 365 days per year, specialising in the care of haematology, medical oncology and radiation oncology inpatients.
