The Role
An opportunity has become available for an Administration Officer (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander - Identified) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide effective and cooperative communications by responding appropriately to customer enquiries at reception and within the work area
- Complete accurate patient information into Hospital Based Computer Information System, scanning documents into the Integrated Electronic Medical Record
- Attend compulsory meetings and training, always disseminate information within the area and maintain confidentiality and ensure sensitivity of all matters
- Conduct patient interview to verify information and financial details to complete new arrival Patient Election Forms
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella and Pertussis
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Driver Licence
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent part time (15.2 hrs p.f.)
- Base salary ranging from $38.81 - $43.16 per hour
About Us
This position will work in collaboration with Identified and non-identified Midwives, Child Health Nurse's, Health Workers, and will work closely with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community of the Gold Coast.
Waijungbah Jarjums Group Practice is a continuity of care service that provides primary care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their families in collaboration with other health care providers across the continuum of pregnancy, labour, birth, and the post-partum period.
