The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Registered Nurse (Scrub Scout - Cardiothoracic) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia. 

You will

• Provide expertise in performing the scrub scout nurse role.
• Contribute to the education of multidisciplinary team members.
• Manage supplies and contribute to operational efficiency.
• Support organisational goals and drive continuous improvement.

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent. 
• Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B.
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required.
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed.
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost).

Salary

• Temporary full time
• Temporary part time (6 months with possibility of extension)
• $3171.90 - $4068.50 per fortnight
• $41.74 - $53.53 per hour

The Gold Coast University Hospital Operating Suite currently runs 21 operating theatres including a Hybrid theatre and provides for a broad range of specialties including Cardiothoracic, Neurosurgery, Urology, Plastics, Ear Nose and Throat, Vascular, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Gynaecology, Gynaeoncology, Obstetrics, General Surgery, Maxilla Facial and Paediatric Surgery.
