The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Principal House Officers (Critical Care) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Complete four rotations within 6 months
- Provide and perform clinical and non-clinical support as required under supervision
- Be expected to communicate effectively with clinical colleagues, patients and their relatives and work well in a multidisciplinary team
- Be required to work a range of hours from day to night shift depending on the unit rotation
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A Bachelor in Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or MD or equivalent AHPRA Registration
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary full time (6 months)
- Base salary ranging from $4 966.90 - $5 758.70 per fortnight
About Us
Short Stay Post-Operative Unit: This unit will be located at the GCHHS satellite facility at Varsity Lakes. This rotation will include both evening and night shifts.
Perioperative Medical Outreach Service: This is a Monday to Friday daytime service that occurs at the Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH).
Intensive Care Unit rotation: The ICU is a busy tertiary unit covering a breadth of medical and surgical patients, including Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), Trauma, Neurosurgery and Cardiothoracic surgery.
Anaesthetics rotation: Clinical Anaesthesia working at GCUH, Robina and Varsity Lakes.
