The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Senior Registrar or Registrar (Gastroenterology - Inflammatory Bowel Disease Fellow) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

• Participate in tertiary Inflammatory Bowel Disease clinics, ward rounds and multidisciplinary  meetings
• Participate in patient history taking, examination and diagnosis
• Participate as a sub investigator in Inflammatory Bowel Disease clinical trials
• Advocate for the patient including protecting the patient, being the patient's voice and provision of quality care

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• Tertiary degree in Medicine or recognised equivalent qualification
• Two years of core gastroenterology training completion
• Australian medical registration eligibility
• AHPRA Registration
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Temporary full time (12 months with the possibility of extension)
• Base salary ranging from $165 257 - $182 106 per annum

The department of Gastroenterology currently has 23 Consultants, 2 advanced trainees and 4 Fellow positions. The department has three core subspecialities:  Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Endoscopy and Hepatology, along with a comprehensive general Gastroenterology and Nutritional service.
